The first photograph is an incredible work of art, the photo has been taken in a studio with blue food colouring being poured into a wine glass containing water. The syrupy colouring is creating beautiful bouncing shapes of colour on the clear back ground. This photograph contains multiple formal elements, the depth that is created by the colour against the light background is stunning. The way the food colouring has bounced in the water almost looks as if it is just blue smoke that has been sprayed into the glass.
My photograph is of a vase with blue food colouring poured into it. The food colouring creates cloudes of colour and the thickness of the liquid can be seen diluting as soon as it hits the water. The round nature of the vase and the shape of the neck forms the water into a specific shape. I like the way the water can be seen moving with the impact of the food colouring entering it, its like a small reaction that nobody can sense without the beauty of photographs.
Both of these photos depict the same thing however one is focused on the shapes created by the food colouring and one is focused on the effects on the water. I shot mine in location as I wanted natural light for my photographs, the first shot is taken in a studio location. In my photograph the food colouring creates clouds of colour once it hits the water in the vase where as the food colouring in the internet image depicts bouncy lines of colour that almost appear smoke like. Both photographs enhance the beauty of colour and water.
