1. M I C H A E L   D A V I D   A D A M S


Michael David Adams is a New York City fine art photographer whom excels in all areas of photography such as fashion, beauty, experimental body photography and underwater shoots. Michael David Adams creates his own special projects where he creates books and films centring around photography. 

2. T I M   C A L V E R


Tim Calver is a water photographer whose best work focuses on a series of single breaths, these are held for a few minutes below the waters surface. Throughout his career Calver has worked for many of the worlds top travel, environmental, lifestyle and dive publications. Calver believes his work underwater demonstrates his respect for natural places and his connection with others who can connect with water in the same way that he does.

3. R A Y   C O L L I N S


Ray Collins is an underwater photographer from America who only started taking photographs in 2007. He started his underwater portfolio at this point in 2007 purely to film his friends surfing however within a few short years Ray had progressed on to shooting for Apple, Nikon, United Airlines, National Geographic and Red Bull using his unique signature seascapes across their international campaigns. 

4. E D W A R D   B U R T Y N S K Y


Edward Burtynsky is a canadian photographer and artist known for his large format photographs of industrial landscapes. His work is featured in over 50 museums across the world including the Guggenheim Museum, Canada's National Gallery and the Bibliotheque Nationale Paris. Some of Edward Burtynsky's work is influenced by photographers such as ansel adams and Edward Weston.

5. M A R K   M A W S O N


Mark Mawson is a London based photographer with 25 years of experience and specialises in shooting underwater fashion and beauty as well as products in water. Mawson produces colourful liquid work called Aqueous and has become very well known for these particular images, this work was made into a book. Mawson has been represented in multiple galleries across the globe and his private work is held in many private collections all over the world.

 Elena Kalis is an underwater photographer who is based in the bahamas and has risen to fame in the photography world in just a few short years. Kalis spent time training as an artist and took up photography around 6 years ago, she lives on a small tropical island which is where the underwater element of her work fits into her life. Kalis prefers to shoot in the ocean rather than in swimming pools due to the fact that she believes the sea provides a natural stage, of fish coral and currents to set the photographs however she says one difficulty of all underwater photography is finding models who have grace and poise and are comfortable underwater.

Davide Lopresti is an italian photographer who has recently won Underwater Photographer of the Year 2016 for his photograph of a seahorse entitled 'Gold'. Lopresti believes that his path in photography began underwater and land images came to him as a second step, he feels more at ease photographing this mostly secret and hidden world.

Zena Holloway is a self taught artist and director and her speciality is underwater photography. Holloway’s style deviates from the stereotypical factualness associated with underwater photography. There is an essence of reverie imbued in her photos. Where does she get the inspiration for this surreal quality? She believes that it comes from the fact that the water acts like a blank canvas.

Ruud Baan is a photographer from Netherlands. His work is a combination of portraits photography, fashion and sports photography with a lifestyle kind of feel colourful, powerful and energetic.  Ruud Baan has also been working as adirector for several videoclips and commercials such as Mason Garments and Coco Cola China.

Bobby Bong is a photographer based in Indonesia. He likes capturing the movement of the water through shapes and colours. His photographs tend to be taken at either sunrise or sunset so that he can use different lighting in order to capture the water using different light.

 Alex Voyer is an underwater photographer who captures both humans and animals in the sea. Alex Voyer has worked with Alex Roubard on many projects in the sea and this has given him vital experience when photographing under the water. Alex mainly photographs free divers interacting with sea creatures.

Ageliki Birska is a greek photographer. During the last few years she has begun photographing the performing arts and she recently won the model category in the water photographer of the year awards. Ageliki has incorporate both performing arts and water photography by using dancers as the models in her photographs.

Christi Curtis is a portrait photographer who uses water to great a different feel to her portraits. Christi photographs families, pregnant women and children underwater using the flow of the water to create the look and feel that she wants to be within the photograph and uses the water to keep floaty clothes up within the water.

Clifton Li is a commercial photographer who lives in Toronto Canada. He photographs everything from food and drinks to architecture. Li is known for creating innovative and cutting edge photography, he tends to opt for visual simplicity and controlled expressiveness which give maximum visual impact for his viewers. Li tries to push the images to be thought provoking and to tell stories.

Rajkovic was born in 1947 and he was born in France. Over his career he has explored escapism and what it means and has taken his journey through the photography world looking for an emotional dimension but he could never really find it despite visiting some beautiful scenes. Despite the dramatic look of Rajkovic's photographs he works through the minimalistic approach and aims to focus on the symbolism within nature.

Barry Steven Greff is a fine art and commercial photographer. He specializes in sea photography and landscape images and he really enjoys  taking intimate photographs of animals and jellyfish. As you can tell from the photograph above he aims to impress and his photographs have a air of mystery about it.

Love and Water is about two photographers called Shawn and Adam. They are a couple and met in Australia when Shawn was travelling. They photograph underwater and also photograph weddings, they are a big part of the 'Clean Beaches' project as they spend a lot of time on them for their work.

Luis Luxvich takes high speed photographs of liquids and is known for seeing excitement in the abstract-modernist compositions. He is known as a master of liquid photography and is from Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. His colourful creations bring joy to everyone who views them. The photographs are fabulous and showcase how amazing water really is, I love the way the water has formed almost an umbrella shape as it prepares to splash.

Martin Waugh is known for his incredible talent of combining art and science to capture natures infinite beauty. Water is known for calming the soul and healing the wounded and Martin's photography engages the mind and provokes thoughts as he captures rolling rhythmic oceans and droplets of water. As another high speed photographer it is possible to capture the smooth and effortless curves of liquid.

An engineer and photographer born in 1903 in Nebraska, Harold Eugene Edgerton was deeply involved with the development of sonar and deep-sea photography and his equipment has been used by Jaques Cousteau in his searches from ship wrecks and the Loch Ness Monster. Edgerton has created many notable photographs such as 'Football Kick' - 1938, 'Diver' - 1955 and 'Moscow Circles' - 1963.
