Shoot 2 - Work Diary

E V A L U A T I O N

In this shoot I decided to shoot vases of water and pour food colouring in them to study the way the food colouring looks in the water. I found it created beautiful cloud like colourful shapes in the water, the wonderful thing about this shoot is that you can never take two of the same photographs because water will never fall the same way twice. I found in this shoot I was able to experiment widely, I photographed many different colours and found different colours react differently to the water, I also focused on pouring the water out and capturing the splashing of the droplets as they fall. This shoot has really inspired me and I hope to develop this idea further possibly for one of my exam shoots.

I really enjoyed doing this shoot on water and i loved experimenting with the different coloured syrups and food colourings. I have plans to develop this idea for my exam shoots where I will add ice into the experiment and look at the effects water has on ice and also the way the colours reflect within the ice cubes. For my next shoot I am planning to look at the effects water has on paper and to do this I will use photos of my model and look at how the water moulds to the paper and how it sits on the photographs.
